Market data, automatic history and stale-feed checks

Understand missing levels, history coverage and trading locks.

CONTROL REFERENCE

Buttons & settings

Terminal → Connection / global account / instrument search

01Connection

What it does

Open the trading provider connection dialog.

How to use it

Select the provider environment and use your provider credentials.

02Account selector

What it does

Choose the account whose orders and positions are shown.

How to use it

An empty selection is not a flat-account confirmation.

03Instrument search

What it does

Choose a full contract and exchange.

How to use it

Confirm the expiry before requesting history.

04Connection status

What it does

Inspect feed and order channel state.

How to use it

Connected transport does not guarantee fresh depth for every symbol.

05Disconnect

What it does

End the provider session in EdgeX.

How to use it

Does not cancel working orders or close positions.

Connect the provider

Open Connection, choose the supplied environment and connect using your provider credentials. Check market data and order channels separately, select the account, then select the full contract. Data entitlements determine which instruments and depth are available.

Automatic history requests

Opening a chart requests its configured days and interval through the backend. If no history arrives, check connection status, expiry and coverage. Heatmap requires recorded depth; candle history alone cannot produce historical liquidity bands.

Stale or incomplete depth

A green connection icon does not guarantee that every instrument has fresh depth. Inspect the selected symbol, last update and any stale-data notice. Trading locks protect against unavailable data. Reconnect only after checking provider status; do not send test orders to diagnose a feed.

Useful support details

Record the contract, exchange, requested interval and days, approximate UTC time, connection environment and visible error. Screenshots should omit passwords and sensitive account details.
