Squawk & trading sounds

Start listening and use the floating audio control

A movable audio controller, quick volume and instant stop throughout the terminal.

Start with one instrument

Select a full futures contract and check that executions are arriving. Open Squawk, choose the monitored workspace and enable audio. Audio starts only after your interaction and is off after a page reload. Enabling audio does not submit orders.

  1. Start at a low listening volume.
  2. Choose one instrument template and test the tone and voice.
  3. Enable background monitoring to continue listening when you open another terminal panel.
  4. Confirm that incoming trades and the monitored contract match your chart.

Move the controller

While audio is active, the white and blue icon floats above the terminal. Drag it to a free area; its position is saved in this browser for your user and kept within the viewport when the window resizes. Focus the icon and use arrow keys for keyboard positioning. Clicking without dragging opens quick controls.

Volume, settings and stop

Click the icon to adjust the output volume, return to Squawk or open documentation. The volume control uses the currently selected settings scope. Hover or focus the icon to reveal the small X; touch devices show it directly. X and Stop audio stop tones and speech and remove the controller. They do not cancel orders or close positions. Escape or clicking outside closes the quick controls.

Background and browser behavior

The controller belongs to the active terminal session. Leaving the terminal, signing out or reloading stops that session. Help links in the controller open another tab so you can keep the terminal running. Only one EdgeX tab per user may own audio; stop the other tab before enabling it here. Browser or operating-system background throttling may affect timing.
